Vicksburg Colorado Townsite - Ghost town Vick Keller founded this silver mining town. The town had a post office for all of four years. Apparently this town had two billiard halls, two hotels, several saloons, a boarding house, blacksmith, a school and most importantly a tree lined main street paid for by the residents that wanted shade. I was here in the winter and drove right by this without seeing anything. It was off the 4x4 road and in the trees covered with snow. This time I was able to see something. A reader writes - This is an awesome website! We were in Colorado in late September of 2005, stayed in Breckenridge, and will be going back this Friday. We visited the Vicksburg Ghost Town and there was another one on that same gravel road along clear creek, just north of Buena Vista. We will refer to this website again when we go exploring for more Ghost towns!
