Guess Who

Fort Union  New Mexico  Townsite - Ghost town

The Santa Fe trail ruts are visible when you get here. Even in the winter time. This is a fort with a lot of history and a wide variety of uses for many years. There were actually three different forts in this area. You can still see the garrison and the cells for prisoners. In the distance you can see the arsenal.  At one time over 1600 soldiers were stationed here. Make sure you check out the hospital.  Easy to get to as it is on a blacktop road right off the freeway.
