I have been to Alaska several times but I had never seen the diversity and beauty like I did in June of 2008. I suspect it was mostly due to the good company I had with me. Late last year my wife and I decided to celebrate our 30th anniversary with a trip to Alaska. Great idea, as we are already talking about what we can do the next time.  Now some of you are saying, “That is not a very romantic celebration”. It is if you both enjoy the beauty of America and appreciate a wonderful 30 year partnership. Besides it is nice to spend my money in the USA instead of giving it to a foreign country.

We saw many wonderful things, drove over 2500 miles, took over 2300 photos, spent time with some great Alaskan people and completely enjoyed each other’s company.  We wandered across just a small part of the great State of Alaska. We even helped celebrate Alaska’s statehood in downtown Anchorage.

We saw numerous other cities like Seward, Homer, Anchorage, Talkeenta, Fairbanks, Glenallen, Delta Junction, Copper Center,  Palmer, Tok, Eureka, Girdwood, and even Wasilla.  If you have never been to Alaska I suggest you visit soon.
