Freeland was also known as Trail Creek camp. It was established in 1877 and had a Post Office from 1879 to 1908.

I'm investigating the life of my great-grandparents who lived for a time in Freeland, Co - perhaps in one of the dugouts or log cabins included in your picture. My great-grandfather, Melville Goodrich, was mining in the area - I believe for gold. I am going to Colorado in a week and would like to visit Freeland, but I've no idea where it is. Could anyone provide directions? Thank you!

I just got to see your site I was interested in Freeland Colorado as my grandmother was born there around 1881/2 her parents were tin miners and traveled across USA to British Columbia and then back to England. I found it great to see pictures of this area and it look beautiful. Have you any information on Freeland around 1880/1882 as I have no record of granny's birth or much about her parents Emily and Samuel Roberts. Thank you for your time
