Great examples of what NOT to do in January in the mountains. The bad stuff happened on the road from Tolland to Apex.
Two friends of Jon's wanted to take a short trip. Bobbie wanted to try out his new jeep and Judd wanted to share the ride. They won't be going with me again any time soon.
It doesn't look like much snow but it was hard pack and the jeeps would start up over the top and then sink in to get stuck. Bobbie made me go first most of the time. So I got the worst of it. He was bragging at the end of the day about not getting stuck as often as I did. True, but only because I broke all the tough trails for him.
